Generational Wealth In Real Estate

Over the next decade, an estimated $31 trillion will be transferred by approximately 1.2 million individuals with a net worth of at least $5 million, with the majority of this wealth ($19.9 trillion) expected to be passed on by 2033 by about 155,000 individuals with a net worth of $30 million or more. This substantial transfer of wealth, much of which is concentrated in a smaller, wealthier group, could have a significant impact on the luxury real estate market. It is possible that we are on the brink of a period of rapid price escalation in luxury real estate, driven by a surge in demand and limited supply. This could lead to substantial price increases, with properties such as a $1,000 per night hotel room potentially rising to $3,000 and a $50 million mansion selling for $100 million now possibly reaching $250 million. The influx of capital into luxury and ultra-luxury markets may result in decreased buying power per dollar as prices soar.
